6 week Deepening our Capacity for Compassion Mindfulness Meditation Program
- 5 minute Welcoming and discussion of class outline.
- 5 minutes Mindful movement.
- 15 minute arriving meditation to come into the present.
- 10 minute check-in and group discussion.Q&A and sharing of meditation experience. Instructions around home practice.
- 5-10 minute talk on new inner resources covered.
- 15 minute guided meditation(s)around new inner resource.
- Close.
6 weeks of compassion and empathy related practices (Class is once a week)
Wednesdays 7:30 PM from 8:30 PM
Duration: 60 minutes
On the Zoom Platform
Starts May 17th 2023 and ends June 21st 2023
(Exact class dates: May 17th, 24th, 31st, June 7th, 14th and 21st)
Program Outline:
Week 1: What we can do to practice mindfulness and compassion on a daily basis. Combining mindfulness of breath with simple compassion practices. Bringing ourselves to a moment of care.
Week 2: Why is it sometimes challenging to have compassion for ourselves and others?
Week 3: Mindfulness of Emotions - the gateway to empathy.
Week 4: The practice of RAIN. Recognize, Allow, Investigate and Nurture.
Week 5: Working with challenging emotions - RAIN for when it's difficult.
Week 6: Compassion, Intention and Attention.
The program is free of charge. If you would like to make a donation however, so we can cover our expenses, when registering for this 6-week program, $55 is suggested. Any amount is gratefully received. We kindly request when registering for this program to attend every week; classes are provided in a specific sequence.

Tuesday Night Regular Class – Join us regularly or drop in to try it out
Tuesdays at 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM. First class on February 21st 2023. Regular Tuesday Nights Class is offered within an 8 week cycle. Each week a different mindfulness practice is highlighted.
Duration: 60 minutes
This class is offered via Zoom platform
Structure:
The class is 60 minutes and is ideally suited for students who have completed the 6 week introductory course.
Class outline:
- 5 minutes welcoming and sharing.
- 5 minutes mindful movement.
- 15 minute arriving meditation to come into the present.
- 3 minute stretch break.
- 10 minute check-in and group discussion. Q&A, suggestion for homework, sharing of meditation experience.
- 10 minute talk on new inner resources covered.
- 12 minute guided meditation of which 5 minutes silent around new inner resource.

This offering is free of charge. If you would like to make a donation, so we can cover our expenses, when registering for a class. $10-$15 is suggested. Any amount is gratefully received. You will receive an e-mail notification with the Zoom link and password after you have completed registration for a class.

Remain mindful of fact that as a white, cisgender and heterosexual female the teacher can never fully understand the perspective, joys and struggles of Black, BIPOC, Latinix and LGBTQ+ students and remain vigilant around the inner shadow related to being white and being part of the dominant culture.
- Protect every student’s right to privacy and confidentiality.
- Communicate with students in a respectful, courteous, compassionate and honest manner.
- Maintain a comfortable, safe, clean and comfortable environment for on-site classes.
- Be considerate of the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of students and ask students to do the same for their peers.
- Avoid interaction that could compromise the integrity of the teacher-student relationship.
- Abide by all relevant business and legislative requirements in the area of practice, including, but not limited to, insurance, marketing, and advertising, and copyright.
- Make an effort to live ethically, with a kind and caring attitude, respectful of all life. Assume students make efforts to do the same. And to: 1. Refraining from taking life 2. Refraining from taking what is not given 3. Refraining from the misuse of the senses 4. Refraining from wrong speech 5. Refraining from intoxicants that cloud the mind.
- Reserve the right to refuse a student or to ask a student to leave the class or group if there is immediate danger to the student, the other students or the teacher. Reserve the right to ask a student to leave in case of misconduct by the student.
